A Residential Aged care home is a place where older people who need extra help with daily tasks can live.

They are not what they used to be!

It’s like a home where they get care, meals, and support with things like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine. These homes are designed to give older people a safe and comfortable place to live when they can no longer fully take care of themselves at home.

What does a day in the life of an older person living in residential aged care look like? A day in a residential aged care home usually starts with staff helping residents get up, dressed, and ready for the day. They have breakfast, followed by activities like exercise, games, or crafts

After lunch, many residents rest or nap, then enjoy more activities like walks or visits. Dinner is served in the evening, and residents may relax or socialise afterward. At the end of the day, staff help with bedtime routines. Throughout, staff provide help with things like mobility, hygiene, and medication, while encouraging socialising and comfort.
